Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Romashka Technologies LLC ("KetoRay", "we", "us") handles information when you use the KetoRay mobile app and this website. We built KetoRay to work without accounts and to keep your data on your device wherever possible.

The short version

No account, name, or email is required to use KetoRay.
Photos you scan are sent to Google's Gemini AI to identify the food. We do not use them to identify you and do not keep them after analysis.
Your scan history is stored on your device, not on our servers.
We use privacy-friendly analytics and crash reporting to improve the app.
You can erase everything in one tap with "Delete all my data".

Information we process

Meal photos. When you scan a dish, the photo is sent to our backend and to the Google Gemini API to recognize the food and estimate keto suitability. The image is processed transiently to generate your result and is not stored by us afterward.
Anonymous device sign-in. The app uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to obtain a random, app-specific identifier so our backend can accept your requests. It is not linked to your name, email, or real identity.
Usage analytics. We use Firebase Analytics to record anonymous, aggregated events (for example, that a scan started or succeeded) to understand how the app is used.
Crash and diagnostics data. We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports and stability diagnostics.
Advertising measurement (with your permission). If you allow tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, we may use a device identifier to measure the performance of advertising for KetoRay. You can decline, and the app works the same either way.
Scan history (on your device). Your past scans, including a small thumbnail, are stored locally on your device so you can search and revisit them. This data is not uploaded to us.

Affiliate links

KetoRay is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program. Product buttons in the app and on this site are affiliate links. When you tap one, you are taken to Amazon under our affiliate tag, and your activity there is governed by Amazon's own privacy policy. We earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that make the app work:

Google (Gemini API, Firebase Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics) — AI analysis and app infrastructure.
Amazon — only when you choose to open an affiliate product link.

These providers process data under their own privacy policies.

Data retention

Meal photos are used only to produce your scan result and are not retained by us afterward. Analytics and crash data are retained by our providers according to their standard retention periods. Your scan history remains on your device until you delete it.

Your choices and rights

Delete your data. In the app, open Settings → "Delete all my data" to erase your scan history and reset the app on your device.
Tracking. You can allow or decline app tracking at the App Tracking Transparency prompt, and change it later in iOS Settings.
Analytics. You can limit some collection through your device's privacy settings.

Children

KetoRay is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

International users

KetoRay is operated from, and data is processed in, the United States. By using the app you understand your information may be processed there.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
